This facility is
for the booking of straightforward
appointments with a GP. At the
moment we are not booking treatment
room, Specialist Nurse Practitioner,
blood tests or clinics via this
method.
In order to use the Internet booking
facility you will have to come into
the Health Centre to register. When
you do this you will be given a PIN
number, the practice number and an
Access ID which will enable you to
log onto the
website of our system supplier.
From there you will be able to see
which appointments are available and
book yourself one.
If you wish to
speak to a doctor but do not
actually need to see him you can ask
to have the doctor telephone you
back rather than you coming in to
surgery. The doctors usually do
their ring backs during and at the
end of morning surgery.
Therefore if you would like a
ring back please telephone before
11am. These are particularly
suitable for:
- Prescription
queries
- Continuing
sickness certificates - for
example where you have seen a
doctor earlier in the week and
still feel unwell, but do not
need to see the doctor again in
person
- Results of
investigations - the
receptionists can give you
results if they are normal, no
action. In other cases you will
be asked to make an appointment
to see the doctor, or if you
prefer, you can ask for the
doctor to telephone you to
discuss your results.
- In other
circumstances where you feel it
is not necessary to see the
doctor then you can ask for them
to call you back. Sometimes
after speaking to you the doctor
may decide they would like you
to come in and see them and in
this case they will book you an
appointment.
